I just read, in another ticket, that a user said that with YP deactivated, their site returned to its "old" look. This alarmed me: I expected that YP made edits to the underlying CSS files. Is that not true? Or does it store the changes in the database, and reinterpret the CSS on the fly? So, if you remove the plugin, all the changes are "gone" because the plugin isn't there to interpret them?

Please tell me quickly, so I know whether to invest much time using this tool. I want something that edits the CSS files, not that acts as yet another interpreter in the stack.

    Hey Bruce,

    Thank you for your patience!

Yellow Pencil plugin creating CSS Styles codes and it loading these styles to the website by the dynamic way. The plugin doesn't edit the theme and plugin files. This works dynamic.

I recommend you to keep the plugin active. but also, you can export the CSS Styles and delete the plugin. Please read Export CSS Data section in the plugin documentation.

    Best Regards
